Honda Integra Type R DC2
Engine 1800cc DOHC VTEC inline 4 Power 197 BHP Driving RHD 5 speed manual
The Car
The third generation Honda Integra - known as the DC2 - was launched in 1993, with the Type R following in the JDM in 1995. With close to 200bhp on tap and revving to 8500rpm, this front wheel drive rocket generated much excitement in motoring circles, and 30 years later it still does for those lucky enough to own and drive them. Ours is a later car, first registered in 1998. We are the second owners.
Walk-around
The paint on this car unbelievably good for a 25 year old car, with only the rear bumper having been painted. All decals and badging have been replaced with new parts to complete the look. JDM fans will be quick to spot the upgrades and custom parts - the Rays Engineering CE28 wheels and Yokohama Advan tyres fill out the arches nicely, and the Mugen exhaust is an aftermarket upgrade which makes all the right noises.
Get Comfortable
Inside, the red Recaro front seats are in fabulous condition & totally unfaded. The adjustable steering wheel and air-conditioning provide a touch of luxury which many do not expect in a car with a thinner windscreen and reduced sound insulation to save weight! Spoon Sports mirrors all round provide the view out. Mugen aluminum pedal covers and binnacle plate complete the driving position.
The Oily Bits
Our DC2 has a few upgrades to maximize the fun. A Gruppe M carbon air intake improves breathing and happily enough, sounds incredible too. An upgraded ECU from Spoon Sports gives a few extra revs and drops the V-TEC point a little so the power comes on sooner, and Mugen low temp thermostat helps keep things cool.
The Driving Experience
This car goes really, really well, and that free revving engine loves to spin. The brakes are fabulous - light and sharp - and the handling means those new seat bolsters on the Recurs will be needed to keep you in your seat! If you could need to be any more entertained, we have installed a 1500W 5 channel audio system with CarPlay head unit, so bring your tunes with you when get in touch to book your drive!
